Paris

Here are a few shots from last weekend’s girlie trip to Paris where the sun shone and where we managed to squeeze in champange, shopping, culture and discussing our new business venture Rate-a-Waiter. (wink, wink girls)

hotel du petit moulin ParisWe stayed at the lovely Hotel du Petit Moulin, designed by Christian Lacroix and situated in the very trendy Le Marais. The hotel used to be a bakery and it still has it’s original shop front.

I am now officially in love with Le Marais and if I have a sudden windfall I will most definitely be buying an apartment here. Ahh sweet dreams.

Paris ShopsSo many beautiful shops in Paris, I should have taken more snaps. This little jam shop caught our eye. I took a couple of jars home for our pancakes.

Le Marche des Enfants Rouges - Paris MarketThe aroma coming from this market was heavenly. And the colours so vibrant. Le Marche des Enfants Rouges is apparently the oldest food market in Paris, also situated in the northern part of the Marais.

Paris street art

Snapshots from ParisWe visited some lovely bars and restaurants including Jules and Jim, 404 and we had to try Hotel Costes where it really was worth paying through the nose for a glass of champange just to be served by the beautiful wait staff (as Anastasia Steele would say “oh my“).

Thanks again girls for a fantastic time!

Well. Here they are. Just a few of our favourites from our shoot last month with Sarah in our back garden (ha! We wish!). We chose Hylands Park because this is a place we love to go with the kids and love walking around the vast park and peaceful gardens whenever we get a chance. We have a lot of memories there and Sarah captured those memories perfectly. We’re just beyond thrilled with them and we can’t thank you enough Sarah 🙂

Featured: Brides, Big Day Lookbook

Festival Ticket Brides feature jul/aug 2012

Lovely to see Denote featured in Jul/Aug 2012 issue of Brides in their pretty Big Day Lookbook  (p 47), using Lilacs, pale blue, cream and baby pink.

Due to so many people still interested in the Festival Ticket Invitations that were designed for Cath and Danny who wedded back in early September 2010, I decided to create a newly designed off-the-peg range. Colours and wording can be changed to suit. This way you get them a whole lot quicker and most importantly you’re saving the pennies rather than having them custom made from scratch.

This range, including Save the Date Poster, Information Letter, Map, Lanyards and Table Plan will be added to the website, which we be updated in a few months along with other new designs (I know I keep saying it, I will get there eventually!).  I will try to get some images posted up on the blog for you soon.

Last Thursday With Sarah

Sarah Gawler

We thoroughly enjoyed having Sarah over to take some shots of us last Thursday. She truly is a lovely person and was amazing with the kids. Thank god the rain held off so we could get outside.

I’m so looking forward to seeing the final pictures.

A Bear Birthday Cake

Bear Birthday Cake

This is the birthday cake I made to match Oscar’s bear illustration on his first birthday invitation. I’m a lazy baker so I used a Betty Crocker devils food cake mix and icing. The only thing I could find to hand that was black enough for the nose and eyes were prunes, so on they went. After this picture was taken I replaced the white buttons on the ears for banana chips to keep with the dried fruit theme! It was more about the look than taste here obviously.

Oscar’s 1st Birthday Invite

1st Birthday Invite

My little bear is going to be one very soon. How time flies. We have decided to have a very low key party in the back garden with just family (although my family is pretty big!)

I have been quiet on the social media scene lately. Just due to juggling work and motherhood really. It’s tough. I would love to know how some of you manage to run your own successful business, a blog, network and still find the time to look after your children, partners and house! If you have any tips please do share!

At the moment I am using every spare minute I have to gain inspiration and go back to basics about who I am creatively and I really hope I am able to create some fresh designs for Denote when I’m ready to return officially (Hopefully Autumn!).

On a separate note. Very excited to be meeting Sarah Gawler this week for our family shoot. Fingers crossed for the weather!
